So, each time I travel I set up an email forward at my server to automatically forward all my emails to my Gmail account so that I can still access emails while I’m traveling.

Controlling yourself without an eye on the "containers" you have that dictate time for us humans (the clock and the calendar), is to try to control chaos--and also useless.

If I hear from the assistant I know I am going to get answers and the process of setting up a meeting will go smoothly, but should I try to develop a working relationship with them? Our organization uses Google Apps for our e-mail, calendar and cloud solution. Set 3 times a day to process what is in your in-box, moving processed email into a separate sub-folder. Process, Don't "Check" Commit to processing, not just "checking" your email several times a day.

I then put the items in a two-fold file folder with his calendar printed out on the one side and the items he will need for the day on the other side. The first day of each month, I go through the monthly folder and sort the items into the appropriate numbered file to be processed through the course of the new month. Thats great!
