That’s what history is for: to learn the lessons of our ancestors. Kids need to start learning the difference between a debit and a credit card. I learned this the hard way. I said to myself, I hope my phone doesn’t ring, because I won’t sign the note this time. My phone never rang. Be a good student of history.

After an hour of driving, I give up and let the 7-Eleven clerk direct me home. During the lulls, I’m no longer a member of the pick-up-your-phone-to-fill-the-void club.
