Sometimes I even like my phone. Noble silence ended. We hadn’t even looked at each other in the eye. I’m a writer.

My editor is gone for the day, and I’ve been debating sending that happy birthday email to my boyfriend all day. But I couldn’t remember the last time I lost a Saturday afternoon in a book.
