Company archive – This is a special case (for your work environment) and it should really be the norm, not special. I converted a room in our home that acts as an office - desk, file cabinets, computer, adding machine, stapler - the whole 9 yards. A cheap computer desk and some wire filing systems can create the same atmosphere. I find that it is easier to work in an office. Don’t let that happen. Then create rules so emails automatically go into the folders and you review these folders when needed, once a day, a few times a week. Check with your boss and if agreed, unsubscribe from any unnecessary e-mails that may be cluttering their Inbox or create subfolders and drag and drop these e-mails there for your boss to check when he or she has the time to review them.
