They can listen to phone calls. They’ve learned the ones that they want and they just want to answer the phones on a day–to–day basis. They’re still mentors. But yeah, everyone else is in an hourly position so they get you know, holiday pay and overtime pay and things like that. And it comes through in the phone call.

A company can’t ask someone if they have kids. They can ask: What hours can you work? What shift(s) can you work? Are there specific times that you cannot work?

Pick a half-dozen little items that can be completed in 5 minutes each or less (an email you need to send, a phone call to make, something to look up on the internet.) a 6x9(ish) spiral notebook.

I would ask how long the temp status was for, and negotiate a deal that makes sense for you to not have sick days, paid holidays, benefits, etc. One recruiter CRIED on the phone when I told her I’d accepted a job and would no longer proceed with interviewing. I worked for many years in so many facets as an EA and in my specific field.
