The main reason I started my business in the first place (way back in November 2001) was so that I could choose my own schedule – I had two young children at the time and needed to have a very flexible schedule that would allow me to be around for them, particularly during school holidays. They’re still mentors. And we have internal up-training and there’s so much you know, things change here all the time so they’re constantly having to absorb information. But yeah, everyone else is in an hourly position so they get you know, holiday pay and overtime pay and things like that. They still do a great job.

I would ask how long the temp status was for, and negotiate a deal that makes sense for you to not have sick days, paid holidays, benefits, etc. This lead to the spouse also asking to meet with me once or twice to network and for an informational interview as well.
