They probably came from a blue collar or middle class family. The sheer hours of mentoring I received from this person was unmatched. This boss upped my game and provided a higher level of one-on-one training, leadership, and management skills. This executive had very sound judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.

So that’s probably how I got into top 10% of my class, but so then I was planning to go to college. Based on their skill set and their level?

However, even after taking many classes on the various programs I still haven’t gotten any new tasks. It’s such a shame that there aren’t more managers who are good mentors that help each individual grow and learn more in their roles. We discussed it at length and I “have” my boss’ support. Be willing to do anything and learn a lot of different skill sets and software programs so you are indispensable. There are others who mean well, but never have enough time to mentor you. Your best bet is to start at a smaller company where you can wear a lot of hats or a new company that is just starting out.
