Editors are busy and read through mounds of desperate writer emails every day. If you don’t hear anything back in 2 weeks, follow-up with a short, friendly email and ask about the status. If you can train for a marathon, learn to knit, study a new language, or take a cooking class then you can learn to pitch.

If you want your blog to get a whole lot more readers, you should think about taking a class in how to write better articles and be noticed on the web. If you keep seeing clients come to your sales page and run off without buying, you probably want to take a class in writing killer sales copy that converts. This is class, people.

Alright, well, I know he emailed me to let me know I had a broken link in a post. And I know he was interested in what that link led to, which made me think well of him, so I emailed him back. In less than 5 emails, in fact. This is perhaps my most important rule of thumb, whether writing books, blog posts, or emails.

Check your email. Look at your email. Read that long chain email someone forwarded to you. Forward that chain email to all your friends. Write a detailed apology to the friend you sent that chain email to who asked you not to send stuff like that anymore. Send an email to your client. Check your voice mail.

I never worried too much about it, yet I managed to get the highest grades in my class. I used to do them at school, just before the class. There was a 10 minutes break between classes and I almost always used this short break to write my homework. I did some things like you, depending on the class. And I mean in school.

Look at the names of the classes you chose to take. Figure out what interested you most about every single class you ever took. I never thought about the idea of going back and looking specifically at the classes that I loved. I don’t care how you do it, campus, traveling or from home, but you WILL go.

Learning a new language is a beautiful travel. I spent countless hours trying to find a flaw in some class or API, basically banging my head against the wall by not accepting that I was the source of that mistake. Every time some new class showed up, some new algorithms appeared and I felt like I will never finish.

In PHP you write functions, in Objective C you write classes. Day 3 – Creating And Saving Data Spent too much time with the FetchedResultsController class, trying a simple select from DB. Took me a few hours to understand that FetchedResultController is a class designed specifically to be used with a TableViewController.

Tame Your Email 1. Turn off email alerts when emails arrive in your inbox. If you know that you will never answer an email, delete it right away. Create email folders same as you would for word doc and paper files. Examples: If you have a full email box, then schedule an hour each morning to tackle it.
