Outlook can automatically add public holidays to your calendar and it has nearly 100 different locations to choose from so it is well worth putting these in if you work closely with offices in other locations. To add public holidays go to Options > Calendar > Add Holidays, and choose the countries that you are working with.

So things like email – from external sources – remain in the email program for storage and execution there. I don’t put things like Garbage Day or Recycling Day on my calendar. My wife does put them on the calendar, and because of that, I can see when the pickup dates are. I look at my to do list.

I had an event for November 7th and the contract was signed, sealed and delivered, but then I noticed the hotel had put the wrong date on the contract. What are the dates you can cancel by?

The one good thing about speaking at an event where nobody knows me is, they have no idea whether my hair is supposed to be this dark. Some good advice to pass along: Never colour your hair the night before an event.

Networking at a conference does little good if you never speak with the person after the event. If you meet someone at an Administrative Assistant conference, for example, make sure to follow up with that contact within a week or two after the event. Tame Your Email 1. Turn off email alerts when emails arrive in your inbox. If you know that you will never answer an email, delete it right away. Create email folders same as you would for word doc and paper files. Utilize your calendar to schedule tasks. In the calendar. Grocery shopping? Triumph!

Feeling rather confident, I pushed it even further: I added a new table in the adding area (the one you actually see right now in the app, if you have it) in order to choose what type of item is added: a task, a project, an idea or an event. Didn’t add any event yet. I also implemented a new view for adding an event.
