The encoding stage refers to the process of putting information into memory. The storage stage refers to retention or maintaining information in memory. The retrieval stage refers to recovering information from memory. So hang up the phone, find a quiet place and focus. Stay organized. Try chunking items into smaller groups.

Be careful not to send long rambling emails, make sure your action items are clear and concise, include deadlines and all necessary information. Ask yourself if you REALLY want to receive that information.

As I was going through the manual, I saw chapters on office procedures, confidentiality, health and safety, security and more. All important information, but I knew I couldnt possibly retain much of what I was looking at in one sitting so I started to cheat and flip through a few tabs because I had to sign a form that I read the manual.
