For example, if you’re using Flow as your task manager of choice and Evernote to store notes for those tasks and projects, then it’s a good idea to use similarly-named identifiers across both. (If you’re using OmniFocus, which uses contexts instead of tags, then you can apply those contexts as tags in the other apps you’re using.)

I’ve managed to steer clear of using Google for search, sticking with DuckDuckGo ever since making the switch and Bing on my iOS devices. I’m also missing out on some connections through the service, and those connections are becoming as important in many cases as the ones I’ve developed on Facebook. So this week I moved Vardy.me

The task manager is the leader – and it should be. It informs the other parts first, then they inform it when needed – and in a way that helps the task manager move in the right direction on a consistent basis. The other aspect of the task manager that makes it the leader is that it is capable of doing the most on its own.

I used paper to start my day and ended my day checking off everything on my digital task management app. That paper version allowed me to start my day off on paper, keep tabs on it with paper, and then go in as the dya came to an end and tie up all of my digital loose ends in my task manager and so on. Big difference there.

Task management and time management are very different. You need to learn how to manage your tasks first, then you’ll be in a far better position to manage your time. The ideal scenario for one’s personal productivity is to be both efficient and effective – not forsaking one for the other.

If I received less email – especially the type that didn’t require actions involving task management tools – I’d give it a better chance at winning the role of my email app of choice. While I do like the minimal aspect of Notify, for someone who gets as much email as I do it is almost too minimal.

During my trip to the Yukon it became apparent to me that I needed to have a task management app that I could use whether connected or not. By making a return to OmniFocus for individual task management and sticking with Asana for team-based task management, I’m going to have the best of both worlds aat my disposal.

As many of you may know, I’m not a fan of using your e-mail app to manage your tasks. TextExpander works just fine with Postbox and so do popular Mac task management apps Things and OmniFocus. But Postbox can do that if you need. You can “tag” to-dos within Postbox by simply selecting a message and pressing the “S” key.
