It is a lovely part of Geneva with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. I did manage to escape work for long enough to pick up some groceries from the local supermarket with the intention of using the wonderfully equipped kitchen for some home cooking. I was staying in a one bedroom apartment and it was gorgeous.

It is without doubt a beautiful city but boy is it expensive! Restaurants, hotels, transport – everything that you encounter on a trip is costly. There are lots of conventions, international events and business meetings taking place in the relatively small city so hotels do tend to be expensive and are fully booked most weeks.

The Nadler Soho is located just off Soho Square which is pretty much in the centre of London’s West End with its theatres, restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. Around these parts hotels are pretty expensive (sometimes unreasonably so) but The Nadler is what you would call a hidden gem.

As you would expect there service levels are incredibly high particularly in restaurants, hotels and bars. For example, taxi fares are ridiculously expensive but saying that districts in Houston are miles apart and the traffic can be bad, particularly during rush hour.

This is the most expensive room in the hotel and comes with the most amenities as well as being bigger than the other options. Lots of informal (and informal being the operative word) meetings were taking place in the restaurant while I stayed in the hotel. The restaurant area has a great atmosphere with lots of comfy sofas and chairs.

Similar to a lot of spa hotels the Nutfield’s Cloister restaurant offers a three course meal (£38 per head) as part of the weekend package rates. I loved sitting underneath the cloisters and I thought the setting for the restaurant was fantastic. However, I was slightly less enamoured with the food. It was okay.
