I’m not presenting an argument that Android phones (G1, myTouch, CLIQ, Droid, and the newly debuted Nexus One – THE Google Phone ) will win over any other phone. In other words, I wanted to be able to access my email, calendar, tasks, and notes from anywhere. Google Apps did everything except Tasks. Problem solved.

I also have many contacts and calendar items. What’s worse is that as the keyboard is getting more use, it’s not as sensitive. I also keep a detailed calendar with anywhere from 1500 to 2000 events scheduled. I see the same lag switching in and out of the Calendaring application as I do for emails.

Our organization uses Google Apps for our e-mail, calendar and cloud solution. Unlike traditional e-mail, Google Apps utilizes labels instead of a folder system for e-mail sorting and storage. On a daily basis, I make liberal use of the following two keyboard keys: 1. That will help reduce the clutter in your in-box.

In the Advanced/General preferences panel, you can set Postbox to use Gmail’s keyboard shortcuts and you can also create events within Google Calendar for detected dates. It looks a lot like the native Apple Mail.app, but has a whole lot more under the hood. If you’re a big Gmail user, then Postbox has you covered.

Typing addresses is easy with both the on-screen and the slide-out keyboard. Among the applications, I enjoy having a Google Search app that I can both type into and use a voice command with. The Google Map rocks too. What I Like So Far With that said, there’s still a lot I like about the device.
