The only remaining big mess was the admin panel which wasn’t seeing its intended CSS and image files. A colleague recommended reinstallation of the wp-admin files. This cleaned up the admin panel, but the visual editor was still inoperable. A reinstall of the wp-includes files seems to have been the answer.

I was used to listing all my duties on my resume: maintaining a filing system, answering the telephone, typing correspondence, etc. Instead they recommended setting out your skills and strengths in point form right up front so the potential employer can see if you have the skills for the job. This was radical for me.

I used the auto update option to bring Loosely Speaking up to date yesterday. Specifically, my update didn’t find or recognize these three files: wp-includes/http.php wp-includes/pluggable.php wp-includes/Text/Diff/Renderer/inline.php All it took was a look through the 2.7 RSS Comments RSS Subscribe in a reader Copyright 2004.

Then there are those clients who proudly display 14-year-old sites which they’ve never changed (go figure) since the original site files were ftp’d to the host’s server.
