I would like to get better assignments, promoted, or get a raise before a few more years go by. It’s such a shame that there aren’t more managers who are good mentors that help each individual grow and learn more in their roles. We discussed it at length and I “have” my boss’ support. The amount of skill, pressure, stress, and problem solving differs at each of those levels. Branding yourself well and maintaining your presence is the key.

It says a lot when your boss wants to grow you within the company and promote you. I hated the mental stress and burden of putting everyone else first and getting only the usual thank you’s and words of appreciation. I mentored other younger assistants. So, many kudos to you for getting to where you are now!
