I also haven’t been growing or learning anything new since Day 1 because my boss won’t give me projects. It’s such a shame that there aren’t more managers who are good mentors that help each individual grow and learn more in their roles. Granted, I understand that many managers are busy and it’s faster for them to do certain projects.

I would wait to be asked to work on projects or take on extra work – assuming if I worked hard in the back ground that eventually my dedication would be notice and rewarded. Even asking to intern, shadow, or be mentored by someone well respected is a great first step.
