Tame Your Email 1. Turn off email alerts when emails arrive in your inbox. If you know that you will never answer an email, delete it right away. Create email folders same as you would for word doc and paper files. Examples: If you have a full email box, then schedule an hour each morning to tackle it.

When I was a graduate student, I was mildly surprised to learn that a thesis statement could expand into an entire thesis. Here's a tip: you talk to, email several people a day. I take my best content and turn it into workshops and allow people to play with and I hope learn from the ideas. The list itself could be one.
