The bathroom products were gorgeous… …and really nicely presented. After a fantastic night sleep I went for a run around Central Park – on my return the fabulous reception staff presented me with a bottle of water and a towel. As it was Sunday the restaurant was very busy catering for the New York Sunday brunch crowd.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the door to this ugly scene: Apparently, the restaurant shared the bathrooms with other stores/restaurants in that area (it was similar to a shopping mall), so their cool Beer experience ended at the door.

On days where I’ve been too knackered after work to cook, for lunch the next day, I’d pop to one of many great restaurants near the office. There are some fab vietnamese restaurants – I’m partial to a kimchi banh mi. So maybe a writer, beauty or fashion journalist, a columnist or radio presenter.

The hotel definitely feels like a little part of Paris in the heart of DC and I immediately felt at home. However on my return to the Sofitel the eagle-eyed door man presented me with a bottle of water and a towel. I loved the elegant touches and although the Sofitel is a chain it certainly feels more like a boutique hotel.
