Try to set up the communication of the office so your boss checks their own emails and responds, but you are in charge of all the mtg coordination, phones, and anything that happens in the office. Tech glitches happen all the time and 2 people controlling one person's calendar is not the easiest thing.

Sometimes e-mail is not the best way to communicate and it needs to be followed up by a phone call or face-to-face short meeting. Put it in a folder for your boss’s signature in completed form, i.e. envelope clipped to letter and attachments. I usually put a sticky note on it for that as well.

If there are forms that need to filled in and it has a due date in June, I put those forms in the June folder with a bf date on it for a week before it is due. I then put the items in a two-fold file folder with his calendar printed out on the one side and the items he will need for the day on the other side. 411 Look Up 411.ca

All important information, but I knew I couldnt possibly retain much of what I was looking at in one sitting so I started to cheat and flip through a few tabs because I had to sign a form that I read the manual. Food, food and more food If your event requires food the venue will send you a banqet event form and you will need to estimate the amount of food you need. There is value in getting to know people, even if it is just over email or the phone. Once they start to have a relationship with you they are much more open to trying to help you.
