Insurance: If you carry any sort of business insurance, or if you have extra homeowners or renters insurance to cover equipment losses, count it as an expense. You may also consider health insurance as an expense, especially if you had to buy your own after leaving your job to work for yourself. Gas isn’t cheap!

Where do your local entrepreneurs do business or hang out? Places like copy centers, local cafes with Wi-Fi, and health clubs are populated with your target market, and often have community bulletin boards or places to leave business cards. Get to know the managers or owners of these businesses.
