Dont play with your phone. While you may know enough to mute your phone during an interview, you also cant even look at it. Were you on the phone or texting or taking off your jacket and loosening your tie before your feet hit the exit? You dont have to have an expensive satchel, but get one that is clean and streamlined.

Why should you have to spend money on gas or waste your time in traffic when you can simply use your own phone for a conference call? I work in a back office environment, where 99% of our client interaction is via the phone, e-mail or outside of the office, so I can wear jeans and a t-shirt. However, for business casual and business dress environments, Im still a purist. That goes for men and women. No jeans, no shorts, no capris.
