A few weeks ago I ordered my new MacBook Pro and I wanted a German keyboard, of cause I could not order a German keyboard, you can order a French keyboard? This time a friendly guy in my Apple Store told me I could pay $200/£100 extra and they would change the keyboard in store for me. You want a little more.

One person can be great at software programs and know all sorts of tricks to get things done quickly and another might be excellent at organizing and managing their email account. I have been on some interactive sites where assistants ask questions and get answers and I learn from them as I have some of the same questions.

I had no idea this could be done, but I was thrilled when I got her email, but it just proved to me once again that we are all holding on to things we take for granted that others know about. The tip she sent me was how to edit an email that you have received. Close out of the email and you will be asked to Save the changes.

There are just too many passwords to remember, and that doesnt include my bosss passwords that I also need to know because I have to check his emails as well as my own. He can ignore e-mails, but it is hard to ignore me :) When you are copied on an e-mail, read the whole message, don’t just skim it. If you are sent an email with a request to do something either asap or later, did you do it or have you diarized it to do it later? I also use Tasks in Outlook to follow up on electronic items.

For years I’ve been a champion of steering clear of email when you’re trying to manage your tasks. Now I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen the light of day and realized that you can use any email app as a to do list – far from it. There are plenty of reasons why you wouldn’t want to use any old email app in that way.
