A perfect location for business travellers and tourists alike. My evening was pretty much planned – cheese and wine reception followed by some quality time on the sofa in my dressing gown with the welcome bottle of wine and chocolates the staff had presented to me on arrival. Another perfect touch! It is in a fantastic location.

The contents of which were so good I could have, if so inclined, given the bag to someone as a present – and they would have appreciated it very much! The non-alcoholic Fizz was fizzy and well presented. The issues I mentioned with the standard rooms, however, are ones that I would be concerned about for business traveller. Advertised minimum rate per night is£370 (October 2014). For dinner we ate exclusively from the Market Menu. Our opinions are entirely our own.

It seems like the hotel has given quite some thought to the female traveller which always makes a nice difference. However on my return to the Sofitel the eagle-eyed door man presented me with a bottle of water and a towel. For a female business traveller this hotel is perfect. That is what I call service!
