The restaurants were packed, the bars were swinging; unfortunately the shops were closed but as glamorous as the residents strolling along the sidewalk. I had a cathedral suite which was beautifully presented with a huge 4 poster bed and a whirlpool tub made for two. Advertised minimum rate per night $149 (January 2014). .

The foyer, the salon bar and the restaurants are beautiful. The non-alcoholic Fizz was fizzy and well presented. I felt that the food could have been a bit flashier (you do tend to expect that in a five star hotel restaurant) but that would have probably only raised the price and not the quality.

The Landmark, London

Back to the present day, the Landmark is once again a hotel. So I made my way down to the TwoTwentyTwo restaurant and bar. I would definitely recommend TwoTwentyTwo for anyone travelling to and from Marylebone station or in the area on business. The Landmark also has a two-AA Rosetta restaurant called The Winter Garden.

It seems like the hotel has given quite some thought to the female traveller which always makes a nice difference. However on my return to the Sofitel the eagle-eyed door man presented me with a bottle of water and a towel. For a female business traveller this hotel is perfect. That is what I call service!
