Anyway here we are in 2014 and I hope that everyone is settling back into work after the Christmas and New Year break. I think assistants will have an interesting 2014, particularly as it is the International Year of the Secretary and Administrative Assistant with lots planned for our professional development. After many many years of booking business travel to Houston for my Executives I finally got to travel there myself in January 2014. As you would expect there service levels are incredibly high particularly in restaurants, hotels and bars. For assistants, planning will be crucial when organising business travel to Houston.

The restaurants were packed, the bars were swinging; unfortunately the shops were closed but as glamorous as the residents strolling along the sidewalk. I had a cathedral suite which was beautifully presented with a huge 4 poster bed and a whirlpool tub made for two. Advertised minimum rate per night $149 (January 2014). .

The foyer, the salon bar and the restaurants are beautiful. The non-alcoholic Fizz was fizzy and well presented. I felt that the food could have been a bit flashier (you do tend to expect that in a five star hotel restaurant) but that would have probably only raised the price and not the quality.

Back to the present day, the Landmark is once again a hotel. So I made my way down to the TwoTwentyTwo restaurant and bar. I would definitely recommend TwoTwentyTwo for anyone travelling to and from Marylebone station or in the area on business. The Landmark also has a two-AA Rosetta restaurant called The Winter Garden.

The experience ends with the presentation of recipes and tasting notes, as well as your own chef’s jacket to take home to wear whilst entertaining friends and family. The first event takes place on 1 May 2014 at Emirates Stadium, London. Sounds pretty amazing, right? PA Life Training Courses. The cost per year is just £79+vat.

It seems like the hotel has given quite some thought to the female traveller which always makes a nice difference. However on my return to the Sofitel the eagle-eyed door man presented me with a bottle of water and a towel. For a female business traveller this hotel is perfect. That is what I call service!
