People depend on me to give them job hunting advice that will help them get out of the unemployment ranks. Today, the news wasn't so great.

Baldoni says that managing up will work for anyone at any level of an organization, as long as you are what he calls “a go-to person.” You can’t look only at yourself and do this all on your own, or you’ll just be seen as a self-promoter. I feel like my organization suffers from this and hope that I will not be caught in the same trap.

State you’d love to be an EA and learn so much you can be promoted to coordinator, director, manager. When you job hunt keep this in mind. Work on your weaknesses.

Believe it or not, some assistant jobs actually prefer you have an Ivy League degree even if they ask for a career assistant or to promote them up the chain.
