Kelly got his first real sales gigs during college, where he did timeshare presentations and worked for Dish Network. Kelly started his own podcast, The Sales Evangelist , and interviewed fellow sellers about what worked and what didn’t, essentially “evangelizing” about the topic. 6 Failure is part of the game.

10 years ago, the thought of going to a networking event where I didn’t know anyone and had to make small talk would give my hives. In 2016, I began working with a woman who was a master-networker and I learned there is great value in learning this skill, and it is a skill. I improved my self-perception.

Among his suggestions: Don’t be the first interview. The strongest contenders for a job are often those interviewed last, because they’re recalled easier by hiring managers. Try to find out if anyone else has been interviewed when they call you for an appointment. During an interview, focus on what you can do for an employer.

I know that is easier said than done because low self esteem may be the roadblock. I found this link to the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale which has some questions we can ask ourselves to see where we are on the self esteem scale. This is the time you need a lot of positive self talk.
