I temped here and there for a year. Finally, I got a job interview through the temp agency for a one-year contract. It would be the longest contract I had been offered so I was anxious to do well in the interview. I interviewed first with the HR manager and did well. It was long hours and no thanks.

When you interview for new jobs, do your yearly job performance reviews, network, or whenever appropriate, make it clear you have bigger goals. State you’d love to be an EA and learn so much you can be promoted to coordinator, director, manager. State in 5 or 10 years you’d like to be VP of a division. Work on your weaknesses.
