I was living hundreds of miles away, took a handful of days off to travel back but was able to compartmentalize my grief, especially once I got back to my own home office in North Carolina. My wonderful clients all responded the same way, stressing that I needed to walk away from the business and deal with my loss.

But you figure everyone 3,000 miles away in the home office should know you're having a really bad day. You can't figure out Twitter. Your lack of conviction throws off schedules, delays projects and adds to the stress of co-workers. Or LinkedIn. For your co-workers, I have great sympathy.

I use both TweetDeck (on desktop, laptop, and iPad) and MarketMeSuite, as well as Twitter's own interface. We were trying to figure out a way for my Associates and I to share files within my home office but also with my business partner that lives about 20 minutes away. I am so much more organized and less stressed.
