My first office didn’t have a copy machine or a fax or anything like that. People self report that they are more productive. Internal or external. Actually, I wish I had more, but I’ve got a little gray hair. And so I remember when work was done, we used to use manual typewriters and carbon paper.

If deadlines cannot be set, a good practice would be to let team members know when you will be contacting them for a status report. Look into purchasing an all-in-one fax, printer, and copier. Members must be able to trust their leader’s judgment and leaders must trust that their team members will complete the tasks.
