Ive been in these types of situations quite often, but have learned over time that many photocopiers these days have functions so advanced that it can clean your floors, do your dishes and tuck your kids in at night. She also mentions that she needs it completed urgently, since she had to schedule a meeting with some clients right away.

Be willing to do anything and learn a lot of different skill sets and software programs so you are indispensable. If you don't know, try everything and learn what you DON'T like so you can make better decisions. For example, my boss would be a board member of another company or some personal events would overlap with networking.

The very detailed, little tasks that assistants manage don't seem like much because 80% of the work is preparation, 10% of the work is while the event is happening, and 10% of the work occurs afterward. Be the bigger person and don't gossip! Why leave that as the lasting impression? You will die trying.
