In essence, it keeps the audience alert and they’ll learn more from you than someone who just educates. Learn to tell stories. Make them laugh – Although you want to educate your audience, you need to make them laugh as well.

Like any skill, delivery must be learned. Use metaphors, analogies, and similes. Avoid a dry recitation of facts. Model the techniques of good speakers. Try out the techniques you admire in others. Practice your delivery in front of a mirror, or better yet, a video camera. Playback the presentation and look for areas to improve.
