Working at an organizations’ head office, we see a lot of paper. When the HVAC system was installed, someone thought we might want the user manual for the system: a 400 page PDF document. Instead of filing the PDF on the network, the document was printed and placed in a filing cabinet , where it will sit until doomsday.

Instead of filing the PDF on the network, the document was printed and placed in a filing cabinet , where it will sit until doomsday or at least until someone cleans out those files. In an effort to eliminate paper, you may want to scan the document, save it as a PDF, and file it in an electronic file. Eliminating the many pictures, mementos, and knick knacks will keep a professional look, but also maintain a pleasant environment. Look into purchasing an all-in-one fax, printer, and copier.

My blog is my proof of purchase. I sat and waited for nearly two weeks without even having a listen, because I wanted the PDF transcription I could read, simply because I don’t like audio. That salary came from advertising purchased by business to air on my station. First, it’s a crappy way to organize content.
