When the HVAC system was installed, someone thought we might want the user manual for the system: a 400 page PDF document. Instead of filing the PDF on the network, the document was printed and placed in a filing cabinet , where it will sit until doomsday. I can print any web page to pdf and store it on the drive. It adds up.

Going paperless is not only better for the environment, but it can make you more productive. Simply configure your scanner software to use optical character recognition (OCR) to automatically turn every scanned document into a searchable PDF, which allows you to find documents by searching for words they contain.

In an effort to eliminate paper, you may want to scan the document, save it as a PDF, and file it in an electronic file. Eliminating the many pictures, mementos, and knick knacks will keep a professional look, but also maintain a pleasant environment. Look into purchasing an all-in-one fax, printer, and copier.

That would make it the norm, the expected… would there still be resistence to purchase? Games and virtual environments (difficult to create as a learning tool). Then, text information can be in the form of web pages/blog posts, PDF ebooks, forum posts, wikis, etc. I’m not convinced. You have video online or on DVD.
