Once you become trusted, these bosses can turn into mentors who will teach you what they know which then opens up career options for you down the road. Lastly, if you can thrive when working for a tough and demanding boss, when it does come time to either move on or be promoted, usually that tough boss turns out to be your biggest supporter.

A good people leader is always willing to mentor and assist their team members. But while you may dream of a senior level promotion, putting in 70 hour work weeks to achieve it will only result in burnout. Set boundaries. However, being too accessible can distract you from completing your own duties in a reasonable timeframe.

If you can prove yourself as a good worker you can go up through the ranks and because they already know how you work, they are more apt to promote you. If a more experienced assistant comes alongside you and provides mentoring - dont refuse it.

Mentors and coaches are so needed in todays world – so that we can have the skills an strengths and the guidance to take the next steps. Like you said, trying to put it into a manageable system. Thanks for keeping it real and for the great reads. I have stared doing such activities in ly life too.
