If youre feeling well enough to be able to work from home (telecommuting), an alternative would be to ask your IT department to set you up with VPN (virtual private network) access. I had no idea this could be done, but I was thrilled when I got her email, but it just proved to me once again that we are all holding on to things we take for granted that others know about. The tip she sent me was how to edit an email that you have received. Close out of the email and you will be asked to Save the changes.

Ive been in offices where loud music is acceptable with people shouting over cubicles at each other, which was perfectly acceptable - it made the environment vibrant and fosters team unity. Its up to the individual to analyze this culture in addition to the individual relationships around them.

Bring a pen. It can be very nice or even a cheap, simple pen.

When their readers don’t actually know what they do, because they never visit the site, they simply open Google Reader or their email for the RSS feed.
