Since you never know when a work emergency will come up and you need funds, you should always have a positive cash flow and not live paycheck to paycheck. The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

When I entered the workforce, my resume was already pretty lengthy so I didn't have to start from the very bottom. It is ingrained in them.

Have a system in place to acknowledge that youve received a resume and/or cover letter when they come flooding in. It may cost you some time in the beginning, but it will save you in the long run when job seekers tie up your phone lines or e-mail asking, "Did you get my resume?" Besides, its just common courtesy. Clear a chair.
