Similarly I have a large A4 desk pad next to my keyboard for any quick notes I need to make, things to remember (like phone numbers for instance), and tasks people give me at my desk. Archive and search rather than file. Every time I get called into my managers office I grab a pen and my note pad before seeing them.

Even if you phone the bank they need your secret passcode or they wont speak to you about your account. I keep mine in an encrypted Word file on my computer. I also have an encrypted file with various other important numbers like my and my husbands social security numbers and the like. Thanks everyone for your input.
