For me, I’m usually under the gun with my hair on fire because I need to get this work done ASAP before my boss heads out the door for their business trip… and my computer freezes or the printer stops working or my fax machine won’t send. Get “green” equipment. You’re going to need some equipment to get started. Start up a Facebook fan page, make sure to have a Twitter and LinkedIn account, invite customers to share some of their ideas on your Pinterest page and to bookmark you through websites like Magnolia and Digg. Get on social media.

I use both TweetDeck (on desktop, laptop, and iPad) and MarketMeSuite, as well as Twitter's own interface. Since I work at home (and because we're full-time RVers, always on the road), I need to be able to fax/copy/convert from anywhere. Using phone or fax, with time changes and all the challenges involved was awful.
