They are sensitive to the environment they’re in as well as their internal, emotional environment. So you think you’re creative? We’re going to guess you do. A neuroscience researcher: yes.

This is a skill everyone needs regardless of their title or position. What skill sets are growing? I’m always amazed when I meet someone in the workplace and I ask them what their goals are for the next year or I talk to them about expanding their skill sets and they say to me, “I plan to coast until I retire.

The CEO I was working for at the time was very busy and my meeting scheduling skills were put to the test. He was also an international traveler so I had to learn everything about time zones, flights and everything in between when your boss travels to a foreign country. I was calling it early retirement for lack of a better term.

It was almost like going out for coffee, as it was more of a hello, meet and greet, and ZERO questions were asked about my background, skill set, or qualifications. I wanted to occupy myself by being present, without being rude, which is why I chose to learn more about them by taking in the artwork vs checking my emails.
