The separate suits - one filed by Uber drivers and other by Lyft drivers - allege they are misclassified as independent contractors. It's not clear the business models of many of the on-demand economy companies work if they have to use employees instead of independent contractors as their service suppliers.

In addition I met with a number of serviced apartment suppliers and from the outset it was clear that the apartments were considerably cheaper than the best corporate rate I was offered at a hotel. Looking back on this it was easy to see that their were definite benefits to using serviced accommodation but also a few shortcomings.

I have definitely felt the pressure over the years to find my managers the perfect place, especially as I like to think, although I may be living in denial, that I’m quite … eerrrrmmmm… current?! I spent a lot of time researching great venues, restaurants, hotels and suppliers and I really enjoyed it.

If the supplier knows you are ready to buy for the right price they will cut you a deal. Promise to buy from one supplier for better payment terms, like 60 or 90 days. Getting a better price is especially easy to do right now, since suppliers are tripping over themselves to get business. Get better payment terms by negotiation.
