The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

I was out of work, temping here and there for a year. There are also sites for networking to keep your name out there. A good way to network in person is through professional associations. Being a member is not only a great place for networking, but for mentoring and learning of jobs in your area.

Is it possible to get a list of attendee email addresses to network after the webinar? Private colleges may seem expensive but they offer many scholarships to help offset this cost. She often lists all associations in the back of her publication and has a wide network across the globe of resources for administrative professionals. (JF).

You care less, you’re easily annoyed, you start to do a cost-benefit analysis, you feel resentful, and you feel short changed. When you interview for new jobs, do your yearly job performance reviews, network, or whenever appropriate, make it clear you have bigger goals. When you do things for money, it shows. Work on your weaknesses.

Tell us your story on how you went from temping in LA to being the EA of high-profile CEOs. I found every single one of my jobs through a temping agency or by referral. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. Case in point, I worked for a short time at a social networking website.) I would rather go to a pilates studio that has classes late at night that fits my work hours vs going to a gym that only costs $30 a month.
