I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of these positions, the project management, and the role of admin support. Cast a wider net and be flexible.

State you’d love to be an EA and learn so much you can be promoted to coordinator, director, manager. 5) Look for jobs under different titles with the same skill set. I did very well on my interviews and it's down to me and one other EA who already has a full time job. The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

In your case, she may have been able to influence the SVP, CEO, HR, or the other assistants because she is in charge of all admin and it’s her duty to manage them. And part of that is managing up - bringing things to their boss' attention and up the chain it goes. Bosses usually ask themselves themselves: How manageable is an employee?
