How do you measure your progress other than just finishing the pursuit of the 50,000 word goal. If simply finishing is your goal, then yeah, have a beer. Once you fess up to that unspoken goal, everything changes. Because your publishing dream (again, very much like being a parent) is a serious and worthy goal.

You have to always push yourself (and it) for more, and your goal is to eventually ‘outgrow’ your horse and need a new one that fits your skill level. Can be difficult without a great mentor to advice me. Can sometimes be challenging without a great mentor to advice me on certain aspects of the business.

My final tip to this role model strategy outline is to be wise with time. Ken Robinson in his book Element touched the topic of having heroes too, he said that having a mentor is much better than to dream of your hero. No one else could have made this happen for them except themselves. Well, I dont. Nicely put!

If you really can’t afford to hire a consultant right now, then make it a goal to be able to afford it soon. A top tip for finding a really good consultant is via referrals from people in similar sized businesses. (If Mentors – someone who is in your field but a lot further ahead than you. We had to backtrack.
