Tech glitches happen all the time and 2 people controlling one person's calendar is not the easiest thing. You answer the phone, book travel, offer beverages to guests, book meetings, prepare the conference room, order food, etc. If you are out sick, a temp will have to sub for you. The fewer cooks in the kitchen, the better.

Recently, a temp worker at my job gave me another Google tip. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday. I gave at the office Calendar "ah ha" Introducing The Administrative Bloopers Blog What ever happened to the "us" in Service? It was then she introduced me to Google.

I also handle his executive calendar and work in the office with him. I would also volunteer at work and socialize with my co-workers during the holiday gift wrapping parties. I started this blog while temping/job hunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work.

We also got 2 floating/personal holidays, about 3-10 sick days, and also working in the entertainment industry, most places shut down for the last 10-14 days of the year. We also get most bank holidays, half day or early closure before a long weekend, and some companies close early on Fridays during the summer at 2pm or 3pm.
