Subscribe to some email lists on subjects you know nothing about. Institute a monthly Lunch & Learn. Listen to the sounds of the city as it wakes up and gets busy. Be sure to go to the exhibit hall and collect a lot of brochures, business cards and free samples from every booth. Circle interesting items.
