It is a lovely part of Geneva with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you might need if you can’t quite face the expensive local restaurants and the fridge was thoughtfully stocked with fruit juices, water and fizzy drinks.

The Nadler Soho is located just off Soho Square which is pretty much in the centre of London’s West End with its theatres, restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. Around these parts hotels are pretty expensive (sometimes unreasonably so) but The Nadler is what you would call a hidden gem.

This is the most expensive room in the hotel and comes with the most amenities as well as being bigger than the other options. The half person obviously taking up most of the space with a travel cot included in the room. The restaurant area has a great atmosphere with lots of comfy sofas and chairs. I had just spent 2 months travelling around a freezing USA and although back in the UK my body was still a little cold, a little jet lagged and in serious need of some rest and relaxation. Similar to a lot of spa hotels the Nutfield’s Cloister restaurant offers a three course meal (£38 per head) as part of the weekend package rates.

At first the consultants picked their own hotels and put the cost through their expenses and as you can imagine their choice of hotels varied wildly and so did the price. It is easy to negotiate on the price per night with a serviced apartment as they do tend to discount on block bookings.

Make sure that tasks directly associated with clients come first, consider the financial impact of a project and its completion date on the company, don’t let deadlines control the priority list (expense reports can wait when there are more important tasks), and consider cause and effect (do A to enable B, which accomplishes C).

Once in Christchurch I made a short phone call to the motel I previously booked, just to confirm and ask for some directions. Sometimes, if you travel in small groups, they may be even cheaper than a bus ticket. I tried a few of them, including a small Chinese eatery and a much more classy restaurant near the upright zone near Avon.
