But while co-workers see you as the poster child of organization, you hide a dirty little secret: Your home office looks like a typhoon just hit. Files are scattered. Tax records are mixed in with recipes printed out sometime last year, and the dog has shredded the office chair fabric that is now held together with masking tape.

They’ve got equipment and machinery and supplies for a huge range of activities including forging knives. In my book, guests don’t need a huge guest room. This often happens with people’s home offices. I’ve been shown home offices that clearly haven’t been used in years.

Instead of filing the PDF on the network, the document was printed and placed in a filing cabinet , where it will sit until doomsday or at least until someone cleans out those files. Despite improvements in document handling technology, despite the convenience of PDF files, we still produce a lot of paper. DELAY IT.
