Workplace sexual harassment continues to be a widespread problem, yet 36% of organizations do not offer anti-harassment training. Following meaningful anti-harassment training, 75% of women and 85% of men reported feeling safer at work. states had a mandate requiring employers to provide sexual harassment training.

Compared to 2019, workers today are less enthused about work, less likely to perceive their work as useful and more likely to simply see work as purely transactional – simply for the money. Much of nonprofit work is emotionally draining, whether directly assisting individuals, working with communities or driving public policy to change systems. In December 2019, after years of requesting a sabbatical, my board of directors approved a 12-week paid sabbatical planned for June 2020, after our legislative session concluded.

We work with various nonprofits who provide wraparound supports to career certificate learners who want a little extra help, whether it’s career placement or interview training or any of those other things. Yeah, right.

But as it pertains to kind of the health and vibrancy of cities, the move towards more walkable cities, 15 minutes cities, et cetera, started well before the pandemic. And at the same time executives have said, well, this is our policy and people don’t seem to be abiding by it. Is it a policies issue? Is it a design issue?
