This is what we do: My husband monitors travel sites and email subscription services for super-cheap flights or error fares. Sometimes one of us travels for work and the other tags along. With us, travel is always interesting. Of course, the investment in travel goes well beyond money. I am not a flexible person.

We held our first Assist Travel conference and exhibition on Friday 25th September at the Hilton Bankside and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the day. As with all of our Assist Events we like to make sure that it is a little different and I loved our travel themed registration desk. I hope those that came along enjoyed it too.

As we had arrived early and our room was not quite ready we were taken to the terrace bar and restaurant for a complimentary drink. Once we returned to the hotel we were at the mercy of the concierge for a restaurant recommendation that evening. The following morning we headed to the terrace restaurant for breakfast.

The hotel, pub and restaurant sit beautifully in a striking three story corner building on Pimlico Street which allows for a few of the bedrooms, areas of the bar and parts of the restaurant to be bathed in a warm glow from the street lights outside. Advertised minimum rate per night is £240 (February 2015).
