The most important thing is to take action and do something different so you can get promoted, get better tasks, that raise, or transition to a different role, dept, company, or industry. Work on your weaknesses.

Believe it or not, some assistant jobs actually prefer you have an Ivy League degree even if they ask for a career assistant or to promote them up the chain.

And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. This was mostly as a temp during very slow months when the entire industry was on vacation, but I’m sure the paycheck wasn’t as amazing as yours. Volunteer and mentor online by being an email pen pal. It also looks bad on one’s resume.
